NIGHTINGALE WAY
Didcot Railway Centre
Roughly halfway between Oxford and Reading, the town itself became an important junction after the arrival and expansion of the Great British Railway in the 19th century. Located by the train station you can visit the Didcot Railway Centre, a museum showcasing 200 years of railway heritage, and a preservation engineering site. The site also has a working steam locomotive and railway line offering short rides to museum visitors.
Didcot Escape Rooms
New live interactive escape room opened in Didcot Oxfordshire. A small, local, family run business who has kept the room simple but the puzzles fun! We have tried to create an immersive game that can be played by beginners or more experienced escape room players! The game is for 2-5 players aged 14 or older. Anyone under 14 but over the age of 10 can play but must be accompanied by a playing adult
Wittenham Clumps
The Wittenham Clumps are one of South Oxfordshire’s most iconic landmarks. Rising high above the landscape, you are afforded breathtaking views over the River Thames and the surrounding countryside. The Clumps, which comprise Round Hill and Castle Hill, are steeped in history; with evidence of Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Roman occupation. The curved ramparts of Castle Hill date from the Iron Age, though archaeological work has shown that it was also a Bronze Age settlement. The area is also very rich in wildlife.
